People need to relax. Norys Trevino, you are right. I love my GoogleTV and promote it all the time to others. Thanks for putting up with the masses until then. First, I am satisfied with my Revue. Maybe, but every time I see a kid with a gadget this seems wrong. Patience, curiosity, flexibility…are these geeks exclusives?
I think often ease-of-use equals restricting options. The upcoming App Market will enhance this, I hope. The 3. This better be fixed. So i need my update! Michael…why would you tell people to hard reset their devices to push the update when you know that doesnt work?
That is a lame thing to do especially with all the ill surrounding this ordeal to begin with. The lack of a real dialogue and proper communication is where the issue is with this roll out.
Its December 11already and mine still not updated! How does Logitech rolls out the update? By batch? Says I am not connected to internet, calls to customer support for help are on hold for 2 days. I am in Fla, will maybe go to Best Buy to see what they know. The updated version is much improved. I hope Logitech will considering continuing the product.
I think it was hasty to decide to quit before this important update was available. I was able to customize the icons for my needs. My only complaint, I use Directv with RF remote, and it appears that the Directv control via the revue keyboard can only use IR communication to my Directv box. It would be nice if it could use RF to communicate with Directv box. It is Sunday afternoon! How much longer do I have to wait to get the update. This is really making me question ever buying anything labeled logitech.
Please update my revue. This might be the all time pathetic handling of a software update…to many stages, press releases, etc…. Google deserves to share some blame here…. So… there is another guy on this thread that bought his Revue two weeks ago like I did and he got his update two days ago… so what gives?
What the heck??!! Those customers want the update without knowledge to get the best of what they have in theirs hand right now. Enjoy what you have not what your missing. What gives going to bed now… Was hoping I would have the update by now. LUV it! I tried to download 4 apps and not a single one was compatible with my device. The market might as well not even exist.
Extremely disappointed. The UI is much improved though and seems a bit quicker to respond. A friend on the west coast who got his Revue months after mine, got the update middle of last week. Mine still says 2. How long is this distribution period supposed to be? Like the keyboard interface. Two Revues installed over a week. The latter one got the update right away and I just got the other one updated today. Very happy with the improvements. Appears to be able to handle more video types from my server too.
Thanks Logitech. It was smooth and quick. And everything seems to be just fine. The biggest downer was the way Logitech handled the VidHD.
Whoever decided in their infinite wisdom that by proprietarizing this camera they would sell more should be put in a corner for stupidity. Everytime we send out invites for the VidHD download, most everyboty hesitated and refused. Who wants another download if they are already loaded with Skype, etc. The whole world is already tuned in to these platforms. Still waiting for my update. I live in South Florida. Any idea when I should expect it?
Do I have to unplug the unit or will it just show up when I go to the home page? I must admit, I am very pleased with my Revue and hope this update will make me even more so. I verified that my box is connected to WiFi and try rebooting it couple of times. Is there something i am missing? This is asinine. I was fine with it the way it was. My guess, it was not the users who wanted this, it was Google. I loved the product and concept. Logitech, Thank you very much for the update. And I hope further improvements as well. But now after the update when I logged in I see that a Black screen pops up but nothing comes.
Initially i thought it was my Internet connection 15 mbps but later when i tried with recorded one, it still didnt show up. Well the new update is nice but still lacks a lot of stuff.
Im also disappointed with the new Aljazeera app. The current one is streaming very stale news yet the previous one was current. I would hate to jail break this thing in order to get all the services but it seems I shall have to go that route. Please let us have choice we are tired of being led and directed, even when we think we should be relaxing in front of the TV. Even now a days I am getting error on facebook. Its asking me to download adobe flash player and the Google chrome will not allow you to install any plugging 3 That Google chrome have no regular feature open new tab, minimize ,maximize.

How to re-install Chrome and Android Market? I could not browse or download Market content. I found chrome. I received notice that up-date was coming thru… I clicked on yes or o. My unit has not worked since last sunday.
No one answers the phone. All I get is a computer recording saying a tech rep will be with you soon. I have received no help from anyone. My unit is at my lake home. At that location I use awharrison1 gmail. Updated the new software however i am very disappointed with some of the features that I no longer able to enjoy.
Plus unlike the other Google devices, lack of your Android programs offering is huge down side. Also tv guide section where I am able to see right away all my current cable provider tv offerings. There has been a recent drop in the price of the Revue once again! Even though, the recent Honeycomb update to the Revue has been slow and much anticipated we remain hopeful that its right around the bend.

After a little poking around in recovery, [mbm] managed to grab the screenshot to the left showing the easter egg in context. Seems like the media has spun the world in a tizzy about what was said during a recent Logitech presentation.
It seems like the sites out there all parrot each other continuing to spread the same story without doing real investigations into the matters said, one of the guys over Gnarld decided to take a hard look… or better yet a hard listen into what was really said at the press conference. Check it out! With the impending death of the Revue coming, we have issues the following call in hopes we can continue developing and improving the platform. We love the community that has emerged since we started working with the Revue.
As Logitech has dropped the ball, we would like to pick it up and continue improving the Revue. We have started a petition in hopes of getting this. Logitech recently announced that they would no longer be making the revue after the current holiday season.
After this period the device will receive very little attention and will have a very angry base of original supporters. At its current state the Logitech Revue is completely locked down making it very difficult for developers to add modifications or fix bugs on the device.
If you have a "virgin" box then you are ready to proceed. Open your box, there are 4 screws 1 under each of the soft legs on the bottom of the box , the rest of the box un-clips very easily.
After opening your box you will need to remove the led bar and look at the top front of the board. Locate the pins labeled UART1. These are the pins you will be sodering to. Solder 4 wires to your board. The appropriate settings are speed is baud with 8n1, make sure flow control is set to none.
Reboot Revue into recovery mode by holding the pair button on the back of the board until the box shuts down and comes back up. Shortly after you will be presented with a sign which is your console. NOTICE: If you have not properly completed step 6 you may risk having the Revue automatically reboot while you are flashing new firmware resulting in a bricked Revue.
The video output should show the recovery menu before proceeding to the software portion. Place all files in manual update on USB preferably formatted to ext3 device keeping all the files inside of the "updatec99" folder for easiest installation.
